Billa is one of the main foodstore located in Venice. It is a general grocery store that sells everything from spices and sugar to meat and vegetables. I did notice that Billa did not sell fish however. For that you will have to go to the Rialto Market, which is quite an fun shopping experience.
Billa is a supermarket chain that is located mostly in Europe. Stores are located in Italy, Croatia, Bulgaria, Poland, Romania, Russia, Czech Republic, Ukraine, and Slovakia. Located on the right is a map of the countries Billa has stores.

Location in Venice
I lived in Ca Corte and Billa was the closest food store to my apartment. Despite the fact that there was a Coop a bit closer, it does not have as much variety as Billa. There are a vairety of food stores and coop's located in Venice, but it just takes time to find the ones closest to you.
Billa is located in the sestieri Cannaregio past the VPC on the way towards the train station (the street name is Strada Nove). After you walk past the VPC and cross over the second bridge, Billa is going to be located on your right hand side. The store will have a yellow and red sign. I know these directions might sound a bit strange, but it is the easiest way to explain it.
Prices
The prices in Billa are very resonable and much cheaper than the cost of food in the United States. You can buy pasta for about 60 Euro cents, a head of lettuce for about 50 Euro cents, and 10 eggs for about 1 Euro. Like most food stores the prices can vary a lot, so just watch out for that. On average however, I found the prices to be very fair and if you get a Billa Club Card the prices will be even cheaper.
The one thing that I did find to be a bit expensive is spices. Spices can be very expensive in the US as well, so just beware of that. Remember though that it is an item that you usually only have to buy once. I bought spices the first week we arrived in Venice and they lasted me the entire Term (I also cooked with about 5 other people almost every night so it lasts a while).
Billa Card
Similar to many American food stores, Billa offers a discount card called the Billa Club Card. Each week the discounted items will change. Under the price of each item you will see an extra tag that shows the discount and the new price.
In order to get a Billa Club Card you just have to fill out a application (it mainly just asks for your name and address and phone) and then give it to someone at the register. You can either ask someone at the register or pick one up from the customer service desk. (The desk is located next to the registers on the far right side.) You can either take the form home or fill it out at the store. If you are going to fill it out at the store remember to have you address. When I went to go and get one I forgot my address, so be sure you don't do that.
